The relays will be held in large lecture halls at the State Finals only.
In each team, the four team members must be seated in order from front to back, i.e. student 2 behind student 1, etc. Students should look at the screen in the front of the room as they enter for more detailed instructions about where to sit. Each student must bring a clipboard or heavy cardboard to write on, since some of the seats do not have writing pads.
Each eligible school (regional champion or wild card selection) may enter two four-person teams in the freshman-sophomore level and two four-person teams in the junior-senior level. Be sure your students know whether they belong to Team I or Team II for your school. The relay has the most complicated format of any of the competitions.
Please make sure that your students are thoroughly familiar with the format and rules for the relays. See the contest manual for details. Remember that calculators are permitted. It would be wise to run through a few practice rounds using questions from previous years (which can be found in the state finals statistics booklets) or some made up by you. Both questions and answer sheets are color-coded by round.
